New product eliminates fruit flies, makes composting easier and greener than ever 

Vancouver, BC, April 3, 2021 - Composting, we know we should do it. It’s good for the environment and reduces volume in the landfill. But kitchen compost is also smelly, filled with garbage juice, and rife with pests in the summer months (who hasn’t battled a fruit fly takeover).

Entrepreneur Taylor McCarten is changing all that with BinBreeze. It’s an all natural way to eliminate odours and fruit flies from composting, and even enriches the soil that benefits farming and food production. It’s the first and only upcycled, carbon-sequestering, methane-reducing,  non-toxic product of its kind, all invented by a 29-year-old who wants to change the world.

“Our mission is to make composting easier, increase the number of people who compost, and divert food waste from the landfill putting it back into a sustainable cycle that benefits people and the planet,” says McCarten.

As more and more major urban centres require composting across Canada, consumers are looking for inexpensive, non-toxic ways to make food disposal easier and cleaner.  “At the end of the day, no one wants to come home to a smelly bin. Composting should be an empowering experience for Canadians,” explains McCarten. BinBreeze recently received funding from the Sustainable Development Technology Canada agency to continue to grow and commercialize their compost powder!
